Help Keep Narelle Home

I’m posting this on behalf of my friend Samantha Targett.

Sam, alongside her father have taken on 24/7 care of her mother/wife Narelle Targett.

Narelle has a very lengthy list of chronic, complex and high care needs and has been told by specialists that they will no longer treat her & want comfort and quality time at home.

Narelle’s family wish to assist her at home for as long as possible but financially this is becoming a huge stressor and bigger medical assistance equipment are needed. She does not wish to go into long term hospital care.

They need a 2 person hospital at home bed which is around the 8000.00

,a suitable wheelchair, commode on wheels for showering, lifting aid for bad days and falls.

Narelle has good days and is able to walk with the aid of a 4 wheely walker and other days she is unable to get out of bed without full assistance and walking even a small distance is a struggle.

She needs medications, medicated creams as her liver cant handle the tablet forms, dressings for pressure areas as she’s always knocking herself requiring patching up and diabetic supplies which are averaging around $200+ a week ontop of other medications.

She need a raised chair for the dining table. They are trying their best to keep her home as this is her wish and theirs too but without these aids they will find it very difficult. We are working limited hours and had to step back from fulltime hours as she needs 24hr care and is unable to be left alone, this has made a massive impact and causing financial difficulty to get all the things we need.

Narelles extremely complex and unwell and due to this specialists have informed us they can no longer safely treat her and they are to make her comfortable and spend quality time, this is hard to do without the appropriate aids and stressing about how to get what they need.
