Help Keep Nova Alive

Hi, my name is Dylan Garcia and my mom is Kari Guccione, we live in Clayton Missouri and I attended Clayton High-School and now attend Louisiana State University. Please read below ⬇️

This GoFundMe is to support our beloved cat, Nova. We rescued Nova back in 2021 when he was just 4 weeks old. He was so tiny that we had to bottle-feed him because he couldn’t eat or drink on his own. Over the years, Nova has grown into such an important part of our family. He’s been a source of comfort and companionship, especially for my mom as I went off to college and Alexa, my younger sister, prepares to move to Boston to attend Suffolk University this fall.

Since November 21st, Nova has faced serious health challenges and has undergone multiple life-saving procedures: a Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery, two blood transfusions, and plasma treatments. To date, these efforts have cost over $8,300—a cost my mom has somehow managed to cover because she refuses to give up on Nova.

Now, Nova is facing yet another uphill battle. Due to scar tissue buildup, he has developed a blockage at his PU site and urgently needs a revision surgery. Without it, he won’t survive. This surgery is critical, but it will cost an additional $3,000. My mom has done everything she can, but as a single mom with one child in college and another preparing to leave for college next year, this unexpected expense is overwhelming.

Any amount of support would mean the world to us. Covering over $10,000 in medical bills isn’t easy for anyone, let alone a single mom, but my mom’s determination to keep Nova alive, even when things felt hopeless, is nothing short of inspiring.
