Help sustain Nugget’s emergency treatment

If you know me, you know how much I love and adore my pets, especially my cats Nuggy and Papaya.
On February 25, 2024, my roommate and I noticed that Nugget (Nuggy) was vomiting and wouldn’t eat or drink. He seemed very lethargic, and his brother, Papaya, seemed very worried for him. We rushed Nugget to the Mount Laurel Animal Hospital, and he was immediately rushed in for evaluation due to his visible severe dehydration.
Nuggy had, unbeknownst to us, found my closed Vitamin D bottle. It had a defective lid, causing the cap to fall off when he knocked it down and played with it, and Nuggy, being a little fiend, consumed an unknown quantity of the supplements. Vitamin D overdose is very life threatening in cats, and the vets are now treating him for acute Vitamin D toxicity.
I contacted the vitamin manufacturer about the lid and they seem aware this is an issue, but they are not covering any of Nuggy’s medical expenses. They did give me my $12 back. :/
His first 24hr overnight stay at the vet was $2.5k and it is expected that his hospital bills may be over $10k. At this time, his prognosis is still uncertain, but I want to do whatever I can to help him and that requires a lot of money that I frankly do not have. I don’t think most people have $2.5k let alone $10k in emergency funds. Please help me help Nuggy and donate to this fundraiser. Every little bit helps.
I’ll keep everyone updated on his condition as I learn more information. Right now, it’s still uncertain whether or not he can pull through.
Update 1: Nugget’s kidney and calcium values are slightly decreased! There’s still a chance they could spike back up, but there’s hope. He’s eating today and was happy to see us when we visited.
Updates on his condition available under updates!
Right now, his total medical bills are $5.3k. As he continues with treatment, we may have more bills, but as long as he remains stable at home, we expect to keep future medical expenses under $2k.
