Help Save Our Independent Abortion Clinic
We are reaching out to you today with an urgent plea. We need your help to raise funds to keep our Orlando Florida Abortion Clinic open.
Center of Orlando for Women provides women with essential healthcare. Since the late 1990’s this facility services a crucial role for women who want to safely end their pregnancies. Located in the heart of Down Town Orlando, Center of Orlando for Women is one (1) of the two (2) licensed abortion providers in Orlando. Center of Orlando for Women is also one of the few Black Woman Independent Owned Abortion Clinic in the United States and one of less than 10 Black-Owned clinics in the country.
Since the Supreme Court’s cruel reversal of Roe vs Wade in 2022, Florida has been a safe haven for abortion seekers in ban states. This essential facility is at risk of forced closure due to the recent 6-week abortion ban approved by the Florida Supreme Court, which went into effect on May 1, 2024.
Across the United States, 6-week abortion bans have led to the closure of many abortion facilities. States like Texas have seen a significant reduction in accessible abortion services, forcing women to travel hundreds to thousands of miles, raise substantial funds, hire babysitters, and take time off work to obtain the care they need.
Most women do not even realize they are pregnant by 6 weeks, making these bans especially restrictive and harmful. The recent 6-week abortion ban in Florida has already resulted in a significant loss of patients who are able to have abortions performed. This clinic is crucial for providing reproductive health care to women affected by the recent 6-week abortion ban.
It has been extremely difficult keeping the clinic operating with the drastic decrease in patients who are legally able to receive safe terminations in Florida. The 6-week abortion ban threatens the survival of our clinic, which has been providing critical family planning services for over 25 years.
The Florida Supreme Court has allowed voters to decide on a proposal that would permit abortions up to approximately 22 weeks, with the potential to go into law on January 1, 2025. Until then, our clinic needs support to stay operational and continue providing care to women in one of the most challenging times in their lives.
The money we are aiming to raise will be used to keep our trusted and professional abortion Facility running for the next seven months. These funds will help prevent the loss of our dedicated and experienced employees and medical personnel who are crucial to providing high-quality care. Specifically, the funds will cover:
● Salaries for medical and support staff
● Operational costs (rent, utilities, supplies)
● Legal and administrative expenses
● Patient support services
Your support is crucial to keeping these essential services available to women in Florida. By contributing, you are helping to ensure that women have access to safe and legal abortions, comprehensive reproductive health care, and support during a difficult time. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us stay open and continue our mission.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our cause and for any support you can offer. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us and the countless women who rely on our services. We are incredibly grateful for your help. Even if you can't contribute financially, you can still help by sharing this campaign with your friends and family. Spreading the word is just as valuable and appreciated.
Together, we can ensure that our clinic remains open and continue to provide the vital services that women in Florida need and deserve. Thank you for standing with us during this critical time.
