Help Keep Port Arthur Curling Centre Open

Port Arthur Curling Centre (PACC) is a Not for Profit organization in Thunder Bay ON. It opened its doors 137 years ago and is home to 585 members over the age of 18 and also 79 members under the age of 18.

The curling centre is not only a place for curlers to compete and practice, but it also provides a sense of community to its members. The PACC is a vital part of Thunder Bay’s curling history and is home to a variety of curling leagues multiple days and nights of the week.

Because they are a Not for profit organization, they rely on member fees and donations to keep the centre running. This upcoming season, in order to remain functional, they are looking for some help raising funds to keep the centre up and running.

They are looking to replace some aging equipment with more efficient equipment to reduce their costs and environmental foot print, to ensure PACC remains a viable operation where young and old have an opportunity to learn and grow.

The main issue are the rooftop units, which are crucial to be replaced for the upcoming season. They are (2) 7.5 Ton HVAC Roof Top units. These units must be replaced this summer in order to keep the centre running.

Another major issue is replacing the (2) Boilers that supply hot water for heat in the Building. These replacements must be done before the upcoming season.

If additional funds are raised, they will go towards the following:

Upgrading the kitchen equipment ie stove, ovens, dishwashers, fire suppression system and replacing flooring

Upgrading Washrooms to accommodate gender neutral options

Exploring Accessibility options ( wheel Chair)

Replacing Curling Rocks
