Help Keep Red and Poppy Together

For what it’s worth, I feel completely awkward doing this, but I’ve had so many amazing people offer to try and help keep Red and Poppy together. And honestly, it’d be devastating to give her back after everything we’ve been through. So here it goes…

Our family has been fostering a very special kitten, Red, literally since the day she was born. Red was the lone survivor of a litter of 5, and I’ve spent the past 8 weeks bottle feeding her and watching her grow.

Over the last couple months, Red formed a strong bond with our 6 month old cat, Poppy. It’s a connection that would be pretty tough to break.

If it wasn’t for some unrelated issues we’ve been dealing with around the house, I wouldn’t hesitate to pull a “foster fail” and keep Red forever. But our well pump has completely broken and we’re living in a very full house with no running water. Fixing it is a significant expense and it’s not coming at a great time for us. And with the chaos it’s created in our home, it just hasn’t felt like it’s the right time to be adding another member to our family.

I posted a video earlier talking about this, and I was blown away by how many amazing and generous people reached out and asked to help. A lot of them made very, very kind donations to try and help out. And I’d be lying if I said it didn’t help - A LOT. It’s exactly what we need to get this whole mess taken care of immediately.

If we’re able to hit this goal, I will GLADLY keep Red and put in for adoption immediately. But either way, I’ll keep trying to get this resolved so we can watch her adventures with Poppy together for years to come :)
