Help keep Reggie and Rudy in their home

Hihi, I’m Reggie. I’m a disabled vet taking care of my 83 year old dad. We were doing alright, Dad was doing appraisals and taking care of the big stuff and my pension was mostly covering groceries and phones and stuff. Six months ago our precarious situation started to crumble. Appraisals dried up over the pandemic and we became unable to keep up.

That brings us to today. We’re on the brink of eviction. I’ve been applying to affordable housing and need time to get to the top of the waiting lists. We’ve been in this apartment for 17 years and paid reliably, so the building manager let us know that if we can pay $3000 by the 15th, and then keep up with the monthly rent, we won’t have to pay the balance for 12 months. That will give us more time for affordable housing to become available and for some legal matters to be settled

I’m sorry to be coming to my friends when we are all in much the same boat. I don’t have the words to thank everyone for any help.
