A Dog is not Estate Property! Help Keep Rocco Home

**Important Updates**

1. A judge has ruled that Rocco is Estate property. For more info, please watch the CBC National story.

2. After careful consideration, I have decided not to appeal the decision.

3. The case was pursued very aggressively. Opposing party served me with 12 witness statements and I responded with 13 witness statements.

I was then served with a large reply record by them.

All 13 of my witnesses were cross-examined by opposing counsel. As a public school teacher, it's been hard to keep up with my very wealthy opponents. I have been blessed to have the public's support.

4. Rocco's story on CTV.

Dear Animal Lovers and Compassionate Supporters,

My friend Aliesha is facing an unimaginable legal battle with her late boyfriend's sisters to keep her fur baby Rocco.

Your support will help her cover the legal costs regarding Rocco's ownership. Her late boyfriend's sisters claim that Rocco was his property and now forms a part of his Estate. They want Aliesha to hand over Rocco to them. Aliesha is a public school teacher fighting against very wealthy opponents for Rocco.

It is Aliesha's position that Rocco was a gift to her by her late boyfriend. Aliesha loves him beyond measure. He is her family and Emotional Support Animal.

This will be the very first case in Canada to determine if a companion animal is Estate Property, just like a table or lamp owned by the deceased forms a part of their Estate after their death, and will set a precedent for future cases.

Aliesha loves Rocco like her own son. She took days off work to care for him when he had a kennel cough. Aliesha's life has revolved around Rocco from the moment he entered her life.

Rocco saved Aliesha's life after the passing of her boyfriend in November 2022. In the midst of her grief, Rocco gave her the strength and motivation to wake up each morning. His gentle presence and unconditional love helped her through her darkest nights.

Please consider making a gift contribution to help Aliesha pay her legal fees and opposing party's costs. No donation is too small.

Please also sign and SHARE our Petition to recognize pets' sentience and help end their status as property!

Together, we can show the power of love and community. Please help Aliesha.

My sincerest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation,
Ashley
