Help Keep the Green Beret Marching Band Alive!

Hello, my name is Katie, and I'm from Janesville, a small(ish) town in Southern Wisconsin. While this is my first year marching with this specific band, I did have the opportunity to march 4 previous seasons at my high school as well. Personally, I march with the colorguard, but this cause is for the whole band to benefit from.

However, this is not just about me. Where we're from, there's not a lot of marching opportunities close by, besides the Green Beret Marching Band. We are a family. I know for some, this band has been a better home than their actual households have been.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we lost a season last year. Not only did this mean we didn't get to march, but we also lost out on various fundraising opportunities due to there being no sporting events, or indoor dining we could have volunteered at. This season, we are trying to make up for that loss which is hard when for the majority of events you need to be 16 or older to help. For reference our band accepts members from the age of 10 to 21, meaning there are more younger performers than older. The issue here is most of our band members that are eligible to help have jobs, most of which who are working nights and overtime to save for college and pay other personal expenses

All I'm asking is for a small amount to keep this band running. Also due to COVID, and losing a season, members that should have aged out are given one more season. If we lose this there are no more free passes for them. We have 3 individuals who are in this scenario who have all marched with this band for years, some since that young age of 10, and the last thing I would want is for them to lose their "last season" 2 years in a row.

I want to thank in advance for any help we can get. It would mean the world to me and my band to continue a 55 year long organization for that much longer.
