For the past couple of months, I have been very ill and mostly bed bound, unable to work or even take my kids to school. My energy has been so low that I haven’t been able to keep up with daily activities or earn a paycheck. Because of this, my water bill has become overwhelming, and I’m now facing a disconnect date soon. The water company is asking for a significant payment to keep the service on, but I simply don’t have a penny to spare right now. I’ve always managed to take care of my bills, but being sick has made it impossible this time. I also don’t have any family to call for help, as my last supporting relative passed away a couple of years ago. Since then, it’s just been me and my kids, and I’ve done my best to keep us going.

The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward paying the water bill to prevent disconnection. This will help keep water running in our home for me and my kids while I recover. I’ve managed to take care of other urgent bills, but this one is overwhelming due to my illness and inability to work. If I hadn’t been sick, I would have paid it as usual, but now I truly need help. I’m only asking for what I need to keep our water on, and I know there are others who need help too, so I want to be fair.

For anyone who wants to help, you just don’t know what you’ve done for my kids and myself. Getting support from people I don’t know makes me feel like I matter and that I’m not alone, even without immediate family. It means so much to me, and I respect and appreciate it deeply.
