Help Keeva's Family After Explosion

On April 23, 2024, Keeva Juarez and her family were uprooted from their home and are currently facing uncertainty as to where they might live following an unexpected explosion that severely damaged their home, rendering it uninhabitable. Keeva, her husband, and their three boys lost a great deal of their possessions, as well as the roof over their heads after TNT was discovered in a neighbor's home. For safety reasons, the family was evacuated, and the explosives were detonated. The damage done by this explosion was catastrophic, leading to the family staying in a hotel room for a time and then an Airbnb as they seek stability and security in the area they have grown to love. The family is managing a great deal of anxiety and stress due to circumstances that are entirely out of their control. They are navigating an unfamiliar landscape as they try to simply find a place to live where their children can continue to attend school and maintain the friendships they have built. Keeva has stated the uncertainty and disruption in their living situation has been especially hard for her oldest son who has special needs, stating, “He is having the worst time out of anybody. I think because his routine is completely uprooted. He doesn’t have his room that has all his stuff where he can live in his own bubble. So, right now he’s struggling.”

The family is working hard and trying to maintain a positive outlook through these difficult and trying circumstances, but their financial obligations have not ceased while they have managed their ordeal. The explosion took their food, medicine, belongings, and most importantly, their peace of mind. They should not have to also manage the financial burden that comes with being displaced from their home.
