Help to Quickly Return Keira Cahill’s Daughter

My Friend Keira Cahill and her 9 year old daughter Luccia have been painfully and unlawfully separated from one another for over a month now.

Keira and Luccia's father share 50/50 legal custody and physical custody per an established court order in 2013. Luccia's last visit with her father was on  March 1st and he has since refused to return her to the care of her mother- allowing no access to one another whatsoever.

He continues to provide no information to Keira of Luccia's safety or whereabouts.  Luccia deserves the opportunity to see both her parents, that is her right.

Keira works full time at a job she loves and derives a lot of fulfillment from but cannot afford the very quickly mounting legal costs she is incurring. She must maintain a 10,000 trust to her lawyer David Masterman at all times to continue to do everything under the law to see her daughter again.

Luccia’s father is using the COVID-19 court closures to further alienate Keira from her daughter. The father is additionally 20 months behind on child support payments for the care of Luccia. He has also dishonored their legal custody agreement by making medical decisions without conferring with Keira whatsoever. 

What might be the most terribly frightening detail is that he presents a major flight risk. He has taken their young child out of the country 4 times in the past year against court order without providing her mother Keira any travel itinerary or whereabouts of her own child.

The funds we are asking for to support Keira's effort to be reunited with her child are for her legal costs to be paid directly to David Masterman. The funds will cover her most recent costs for consultation as well as multiple and continuing filings and motions to the court that are necessary and pertaining only to this grave emergency.

Keira is an introvert and is happiest at the barn or when she’s working out. Luccia loves to accompany her mother on such events. In addition they are both avid readers.  Keira's heart is happiest when Luccia is home and humming and doing her art work or helping muck stalls at the barn.

They love a simple life and Keira is extremely private, so this is so overwhelming for her, but I can say she is so grateful for all the thoughts and prayers and help.

She has also indicated she would like to pay it forward and provide her number to anyone who is in a similar situation to help in any way or lend any advice as she has learned a lot along the way.
