Help Keith initiate brain tumour recovery project

Hi, my name is Keith Carr. I am sharing my personal journey post op to initiate this brain tumour recovery project. I am married to Martina, and we have two sons Adam and Fionn. I have a Professional Doctorate in elite performance, an MSc in strength & conditioning, an MSc in exercise physiology & nutrition science and a BSc in nutrition among my other qualifications. I would have always considered myself being extremely healthy but to find out that I needed to have a brain tumour removed in Beaumont hospital at the end of August 2021 was a real shock to me. I went from being in fight mode of being physically and mentally strong to flight mode resulting in rapid weight loss, loss of strength and I became emotionally drained. There are other invisible challenges that you also face that know one else can relate to such as the emotional stress on family members and the continuous battle with the demons in your subconscious.

To give me a beneficial project to focus on during my recovery into the future, and to provide a support service for other people in need, I intend to open a purpose-built facility (clinic) focusing on physical fitness, psychology (counselling), nutritional support among other alternative treatments for patients like me who face/faced the difficult journey of overcoming life changing surgery. With my professional background in exercise and nutrition the goal is to make sure that everyone is in the best possible shape both facing into and recovering from surgery which will greatly enhance the recovery period. This will be a non-profit clinic for people who need that extra support.
