Help Kelly Brady Cole With Expenses After Accident

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mackenzie Brady and I am one of Kelly’s younger sisters.

Early in the morning on August 25th, Kelly Brady Cole was in a serious motor vehicle crash with a semi truck outside of Litchfield, NE. Kelly was transported to the hospital by helicopter with severe injuries. The crash left Kelly in critical condition in the ICU Trauma Unit with a broken arm, broken pelvis, broken ribs, torn Achilles, lacerated liver, and fractured L1, L2, and C7 vertebrae.

Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney was unable to treat her, so she was transferred to Creighton University Medical Center- Bergan Mercy in Omaha by air medical transport, her second helicopter ride of the day. Surgery has been postponed multiple days due to her heart rate and blood pressure dropping. She will be facing multiple surgeries in the future, prolonging her recovery time. She was intubated on Saturday, so now her body is able to rest. Unfortunately, she has also developed pneumonia in the hospital.

Kelly is a proud member of the Eagles Club in Kearney, regularly participating in activities there with her friends.

She has dedicated her professional career to helping people. She’s been a Youth Care Specialist at Hastings Regional Center, as well as a Protection Safety Worker and a Child and Family Services Resource Worker with the State Dept of Health and Human Services. Additionally, she became a licensed daycare provider which allowed her to stay home with her two boys, Brady (now 14) and Bryce (12), when they were very young. This work made her especially qualified for a position she just started in July with Family Service Lincoln conducting outreach and provider reviews for their Child Care Food Program.

For those who know Kelly, we can agree that she is a generous and fun-loving person. She is extremely empathetic and always willing to lend an ear and tell it to you straight. She has helped so many people within her personal and professional life, and now it is time to help her.

The goal of this GoFundMe is to raise funds to support Kelly as she rests and recovers. She will likely need around the clock care for some time. These funds will help cover her rent, utilities, and other bills while she is unable to work. The expenses for Kelly’s ongoing medical treatment and other unforeseen costs may be significant and any little bit will help.

As of Tuesday, August 29th, Kelly remains in critical condition in the ICU. Even if you are unable to donate to this fund, we please ask that you share this page and keep Kelly in your thoughts.

Lastly, we extend our deepest gratitude to all the first responders who took care of Kelly during this horrific crash, including the Sherman County Sheriff’s Department and Litchfield Fire and Rescue, as well as the teams at Good Samaritan and Bergan Mercy. Special thanks to the staff at Trotter Inc. who helped pack personal items from her vehicle. Additionally, we thank Family Service Lincoln for all the guidance through this difficult time.
