Pride Aside, My baby deserves to play basketball.

Hello all, My name is Tenisha and I am a single, hard working mother of 3 children. Rodney 20, Kemond 15 and Damiana 11. Normally, I would never do this, but I had to put my pride aside for my 15 year old Son Kemond, who is a honor roll student at Fremont High school in Oakland, Ca.
Kemond has recently expressed his desire to play basketball for the Oakland Soliders Basketball team for this Spring/Summer season. He even tried out for the team and has landed a starting role as point guard. Initially I thought it was a great idea. Kemond would be involved in a positive structured environment, growing and developing in the craft that he loves. But when I learned of the $1500 team fee associated with signing him up, I hesitated. The reality is, I just don’t have it. I work hard 5 days a week, 10 hour shift and I manage to make it work. But this was an unexpected fee that I haven’t budgeted for. So, I’m asking for your support with helping Kemond pursue his passion.
Kemond is an amazing kid, both academically and on the basketball court. He is respectful, humble and god fearing. Kemond has managed a 3.2GPA throughout the school year and has played on both the Varsity and JV basketball teams during his freshman year. . Kemond maintains his grades with the goal of ultimately attending Kentucky St. Or Duke University when he graduates from high school. Kemond is nothing short of amazing. He continues to rise above the negative stigmas associated with young black males in Oakland, Ca. Your support is greatly appreciated.
