Help Ken purchase a folding electric wheelchair.

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Ken. I’m asking for help so I can purchase a folding electric wheelchair. I figure this kind of mobility device would be easier to load and unload out of the car. Medicare will only provide funds for a hover round type chair which is not easy to pick up and load into a car, or carry onto an airplane. My story began in late 2007 when I fell off of an environmental chamber at work. I broke 2 lower lumbar in my back and destroyed my right foot. After 3 surgeries on my foot, it finally stayed together. They ended up filleting a piece of bone off my hip to graft across my foot bones, 7 small screws, and one long screw. Anyway, I was only able to bend my foot front to back with no lateral movement. So I am not supposed to walk on uneven surfaces. If I wobble I fall. It also left me with chronic pain that will be with me for the rest of my life. My wife and I live on social security disability. On our limited income, we do not have the funds to purchase one. It's almost impossible to find a used chair that will work at a cheap price. I would like to be more active in my grandchildren’s activities and accompany my wife on outings to the store, the farmer’s markets, and take the dogs for a walk. I can only walk short distances without needing to sit with my foot elevated to curb a bit of the pain. Our latest event is going to be a cruise that my wife’s sister is paying for. It would be nice to go see a couple of things on the stops. There are a few of my bucket list items that would require lots of walking on not-so-smooth surfaces. I know this sounds selfish but you deserve to know the full reason. I would like It to make day-to-day life made easier. If you did notice, the picture of me and our granddaughter Jasmine is a couple of years old. I've grown a bit older and grayer since then. HAHA

Ok, this is closer to the current time, haha. This grandson is 4 now. Jeffery Dean Hoselton.

Of course, this is the love of my life, Cindy we've been married for nearly 47 years. I would love to be able to tag along with her more often and do a bit more to help this saint of a woman that has put up with me for all these years. I believe a power wheelchair would go a long way. If you are unable to donate don't worry. I would love it if you could post this to any form of social media so the word goes out a bit further thus improving the chance of meeting my goal. So far we have raised quite a bit towards fulfilling the dream.

This is Isaac Hoselton, our grandson. We were at an Iowa Barnstormers game. It's from a couple of years ago. Another reason for an electric wheelchair. It seems to be getting a lot longer to get from the car to the auditorium. It now takes several breaks to make it inside.

Here are all three of our grandchildren From Nikki and James in a bit closer-to-date picture.

These 2 are the wonderful sisters that Angie foster cared and adopted. We are so proud of her for stepping up to bring these angels into our family. She got them both shortly after each was born. Now Emilia is 5 and Evie is 4. Still seems like yesterday when they joined our family.

All of these Wonderful grandchildren are another reason I would like more mobility. They seem to move at a hundred miles an hour. Haha.

Woo Hoo, we hit the $500 mark this morning. Thank you again, everybody.
