Help Kenny & Nikki while baby Roo is in NICU
Donation protected
Hi! I'm Jennifer. I'm trying to help my cousin Nikki and her husband out while they have a preemie hours from home in NICU indefinitely.
Baby Roo was born at 34 weeks on 3.2.2022, measuring 7-9 weeks behind on top of that. Sweet boy is 2 lbs 4 oz and 13 inches long. He was born with some heart abnormalities (not as serious as first thought . Yay!)
Because of his heart, he was life flighted to Norton children's hospital in Louisville.
Of course this is completely unexpected. He's hours from home so now they have to manage traveling back and forth between him and their 2 older children.
It goes without saying there won't be income during this time. Gas is only getting more expensive and bills don't hold off for anyone unfortunately.
Her baby shower was supposed to be the following Saturday, and now needs have changed to preemie sizes.
Absolutely anything helps and is very appreciated!
I am going to link the registry and share Kenny's cash app. I will put his updates so far below that have more detail.

Nikki's updates on Roo so far:
3.2.22
We went to the OB this morning to get a growth scan of Roo. He ended up measuring 7 weeks behind and weighing only two pounds. They sent us straight to the high risk doctor who also did an ultrasound showing that he was 9 weeks behind and that there is a problem with his heart. There they hooked me up to monitors where we heard his heart fluctuate and fall off the monitor at least twice. They decided he needed to come today and took me straight to labor and delivery. Labor will be too much on him to handle so it will be done by cesarean. They gave me a steroid shot to try and help mature his lungs and have me hooked up to monitors. The goal is to last at least until tomorrow to give the steroids time to do their job but that could change in a split second. Kenny is here beside me and the girls will be with his mom when they get out of school. As of now, our baby shower this Saturday is canceled and we will try to keep everyone updated to the best of our ability.
Kenneth Roo Ranburger was born at 6:07pm weighing 2 pounds 4 ounces and 13 inches long He cried as soon as he was born and was taken to the NICU.
UPDATE- They are going to transfer him to Lousiville where they have cardiologists better suited to handle his condition. He's currently on a vent but he's moving around and doing good so far.
Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. They are about to bring him in to meet me for the first time before he takes off on his first helicopter ride. My heart hurts knowing he will be so far away without us but they have the best cardiologists where he is going and we will be with him soon. Happy Birthday Kenneth Roo Ranburger.

Little Roo update- He made it to Lousiville last night by helicopter at 1:15 am.
He still has his breathing tube in but oxygen has been reduced and he is responding well to it.
TTN started to feed him. They hadn't been prior to this afternoon so this is good news.
Last night they had started medication for heart abnormalities, but after seeing his heart x-rays today he doesn't have as severe abnormalities that they thought he had so they are taking him off that medication now.
He might have an infection brewing from the looks of his lab results so they are starting antibiotics today for that.
We really get one update a day unless something major happens and this is all the news we got today. My doctors are hoping to get me discharged today specifically so we can go down there to be with him.
We finally got access to his nicu camera and can watch him on our phones. He is wiggling around right now and has a nurse near by comforting him. ♡
