My name is Kevin and I am an independent video-journalist in the Netherlands. My work focuses on documenting social issues, which involves filming acts of activism and public displays of civil disobedience. Over the years my work has helped me gain a lot of follower and I am grateful for the support that I receive. My footage has been used a number of times to successfully prove peoples innocents when they were falsely accused by police. But, this time I'm the one being falsely accused  and I need your help to prove my innocents.  On December 18, 2015, I was in Rotterdam reporting on a PEGIDA demonstration, and ended up being unlawfully arrested and later assaulted in- and outside of my cell. I want to raise $3000 so that I can hire a lawyer who will work on getting this unlawful arrest expunged from my record and go after the officers who assaulted me. I want the arrest expunged so that I can continue doing my work and can continue helping people. DUTCH: "NVJ wil opheldering over arrestatie en mishandeling journalist ".  After almost 3-years of waiting in uncertainty the Rotterdam Prosecutors Office has decided that I will not be prosecuted. The reason that they give is that its an old case, which they have filed away under a 'code 43'. A code 43 also means that the case file will NOT be destroyed but will remain on file. Meaning that it can be used against me at any time. Further, the prosecutor concluded that I was justly arrested because I didn't follow the arresting officers order to not enter the street where I was located. But, in my footage you hear the arresting officer state that he is arresting me because I wouldn't leave the area. I had repeatedly shown the officer my International United States Press Association press card  and clearly explained what my intentions were. When I asked why I couldn't re-enter the street (which I had just walked out of), he ordered me to leave the area. This is when I said 'no' and stood my ground as a journalist. While this interaction was taking place, you can hear a correspondents from the officers radio stating that 'journalists who are able to provide a valid press card and ID are allowed' to be in the area. I have learned that its essential to always have my press card visible and was wearing it around my neck on the day of my arrest.   In the case file I have found numerous discrepancies in other officers statements. For example, they falsely claimed that they recognized me as a photographer of the anti-fascist research group Kafka, that I was forced to leave an earlier PEGIDA demonstration in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and that I accompanied a group of activists and traveled with them from Amsterdam to The Hague, for the Justice For Mitch Henriquez demonstration. But, I have video footage and witness testimony to show that all of these statements are lies and I will be bringing this information out via my platform 'The Roberson Report'.
