Urgent: Help Khaled and his Family Survive the Gaza Crisis

Hello Everyone,

My name is Khaled Al-Hajj. A Palestinian from Gaza who was forced to flee Gaza due to the extremely harsh conditions of the war. I came to Turkey alone to search for work to help my family who is suffering in Gaza and to help build my future that was shattered by this war.

During this bloody war, our big house, which housed our women, children, and our memories, was bombed and destroyed. My brother Ahmed was martyred. More than 90 people from my family and relatives (uncles, cousins and their children) were martyred and many of our women and children still remain under the rubble.

The great shock that caused me much pain until now was the martyrdom of my brother Ahmed after he was seriously injured and continued to bleed until he died. We were unable to transfer him abroad to receive treatment due to the closure of the border crossing between Gaza and Egypt. He was newly married was martyred and left behind his 2-year-old daughter without a father or a someone to support her.

His hope was always that he would remain by her side so that she might grow up among us and live in peace and security like the rest of the children in the world. Now she and her mother remain unsafe with no father and no support.

I have previously lived through violent wars and great suffering in Gaza, but this war is the most violent we have ever seen in Gaza. My family was displaced more than 9 times during this war.

Before this war, I was an intelligent student. I excelled in high school and went to university. I was hoping to complete my university studies, but unfortunately I was unable to complete my university due to financial circumstances. I only had one year left in the hope that I would continue my education one day but my dreams were shattered and taken away by this war.

As I write this request for your help, I am very shy and embarrassed, but it is the very harsh circumstances that are forcing us to do so. Since the beginning of this brutal war on Gaza, things get worse by the day. Our dreams and hopes have evaporated, and we have lost our lives, our work, and what remains with us. My people have suffered from the scourge of this cruel war from the first day until this moment. You cannot imagine the tragic life they live or the terrifying feeling they feel.

My other brothers were injured, our homes were bombed and destroyed by indiscriminate bombing, and the rest of my family escaped certain death more than 6 times.

My mother is old and diabetic and needs health care and healthy food, and my father is also old and sick and needs treatment and some surgeries. In addition, they are deprived of food, water, medicine, and housing. Where cooking gas is not available. They use firewood to light the fire, but it is very scarce, unavailable, and sold at high prices. It is very difficult to prepare some food for children.

Our Children suffer from illness due to lack of nutrition and clothing in this volatile climate. There is no safety for them. There is no clean water or electricity, and communications are cut off for long periods. Their lives are tragic in every sense of the word.

During this war and displacement, my brother’s wife was pregnant in the last months due to the lack of proper nutrition and a suitable environment until she gave birth to her baby a month and a half ago in not good health. Without any basic needs or clothes.

Our children are sick and suffering from diseases, food shortages, and weather fluctuations in these harsh conditions.

My nieces and nephews suffer from shortness of breath and breathing problems as a result of inhaling toxic gases, and poisoning due to malnutrition.

Young children do not have enough clothes or covers to protect them from the heat of summer and the cold of winter.

Despite all this, they are still living under violent bombardment, artillery shells, the sounds of strong explosions, armed clashes, and states of fear, panic, and a bad psychological state that accompanies them.

Death is all around them. If I do not take action to do something for them I will be forced to live with the burden that I could not help my family. I am burning from the inside.

This is an URGENT distress call directed to all humanity who still have a conscience. Please help my family and I escape this immense suffering.

Until today, I did not find a job that can help me provide enough for myself and family. I am still suffering greatly. I am in constant fear and worry about the rest of my family members in Gaza and my psychological state is extremely poor.

My family and our children are being bombed and they do not sleep well from the sounds. Airplanes day and night feel extreme fear and are subjected to intimidation due to continuous violent bombing, in addition to psychological suffering from which they may never recover.

The suffering of my family does not stop. My sister’s house was also bombed and completely destroyed. She has now been living in an old tent with her children for many months in the southern Gaza Strip with poor health and without access to the necessities of life, not to mention the psychological condition that accompanies them.

I am very anxious and my heart almost stops and I do not sleep well thinking about my family. It is even very difficult for me to reach and communicate with them due to the interruption of the Internet and communication with Gaza. I do not know at the time whether they are still alive or not. With the continued bombing, death, destruction and suffering in Gaza, I fear that I will lose the rest of my family at any moment. They were forced to split up and be dispersed in the middle of the Gaza Strip and others in the south of the Gaza Strip in Khan Yunis and Rafah, so that we do not lose everyone at the same time. They sleep in a tent that does not protect them from the cold of winter. Nor from the summer heat and without the minimum necessities of life.

I am here and I feel very embarrassed by you. I am communicating with you and begging you to help us with your donations, which will allow my family, who are besieged in Gaza, to survive and escape these conditions and the catastrophic tragedy. The goal is to provide their basic needs and move them to another safe place outside Gaza, since they are being asked to pay more than $9,500 per person. To leave Gaza.

Maybe you will feel that my case is similar to other cases, but in reality it is far more difficult than it seems. My friends, I cannot do this alone. I am in URGENT need of your help!!
