Help Khaled & Tareq Leave Gaza Safely

Hi, my name is Jomay Amora-Dueck from Manitoba, Canada. Our group, the Filipinos for Palestine, is raising funds on behalf of KHALED MAHMUD KHATTAB

and TAREQ KAMAL KHATTAB, both from Gaza, Palestine.

Khaled, 60, is a dentist and father to 6 daughters. His Filipino-Palestinian wife, children and grandchildren have reluctantly left Gaza and are now seeking refuge in the Philippines. Khaled made several desperate efforts to cross the border into Egypt, unfortunately, he remains in Gaza - alone. His family has been very worried about his safety and well-being due to the ongoing bombings and killings in Gaza. Khaled also has some health issues, such as diabetes and hypertension, and with the collapse of healthcare in Gaza, Khaled is at great risk of getting sick with no one to look after him.

Tareq, 31, is a small business owner and a father to 4 young children. He is Khaled's son-in-law. Tareq's wife and children were eventually forced to leave him (and her father, Khaled) and fled to the Philippines due to the non-stop bombing attacks in Gaza. Tareq lost several family members, including his mother and siblings when Israel targeted and bombed their house in Gaza.

Now, their only chance to safety is to raise US$5,000 each so they can exit into Egypt. This money will be used to pay for border crossing fees that the Egyptian government requires.

Once they have crossed the border, they plan to seek help and support from the Philippine embassy in Egypt to help them get reunited with their families in the Philippines.
