Help Kiernan, Declan get to the 2022 Norway Cup

Hi, we are Kiernan and Declan Sullivan and play for SC Gjoa in Brooklyn, NY. Our club is the oldest soccer club in New York and was established by Norwegian immigrants 111 years ago and continues in Brooklyn to this day. Gjoa's name comes from the Norwegian ship Gjøa, the first ship to sail the Northwest Passage. The Norwegians are very proud of this nautical accomplishment, and the boat named Gjøa is currently on display at a museum in Oslo, Norway.

Kiernan plays for U17 Bjornebye, and Declan plays for U13 Haaland. Declan and his U13 teammates have been invited to play in the Norway Cup in Oslo, Norway. In addition, Kiernan has been invited to play with the Gjoa U19 team. The Norway Cup is the largest youth soccer tournament in the world. The 2022 Norway Cup is a week-long event from July 29th through August 7th. More than 2000 teams from over 50 countries compete in this annual tournament, “The world's largest youth soccer tournament.”

We are excited and grateful to be given this opportunity. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We will play soccer against international teams, sleep on school floors and eat in a communal dining hall. During our time at the Norway Cup we will build international friendships, go to museums, learn about Norwegian culture and make memories for life. In addition, we plan to visit the actual Gjøa ship our club is named after!

Our goal with this GoFundMe is to raise money for this opportunity to attend and play in the 2022 Norway Cup. Our expenses are as follows: Norway Cup Fee of $1075 for each of us, which includes the entry fee and compensation for our coaches; and IcelandAir flight, $1058 for each of us.
