Help Kim, mother of 2, win her battle with Cancer!

Dear Friends, Patients and loved ones of Kim.

In October, 2022 Kim got some tragic news that would change her life forever. "Kim, you have Breast Cancer".

My name is Mandi Furniss & Kim works at our Dental office Furniss Family Dentistry. She is a team member, but even more that, she is part of our work family, a dear friend and blessing to everyone who knows her. I personally have seen what is ahead seeing my own sister suffer through it & seeing a loved one & friends deal with this terrible cancer is a trial too, because you often want to help, but feel helpless. We care, know many others do and want to help and so I am putting this together for Kim.

Kim is survived, from her father that passed away from cancer in 2015 and her sister also battling cancer. Unfortunately, she also received the news that no one ever wants to hear. Her mom & family can only do so much too. Kim would like to stay in her home and keeping up will bills this year for herself is going to be a big challenge & stress in her life, that we hope to reprieve.

Learning you have cancer, never comes at a good or convenient time and often with people I know, comes in a year when people are already dealing with other hard trials. That is exactly the case for Kim this year too. This year & diagnosis has been extremely hard & the news devastating.

She recently found out that the pathology shows the TN Apocrine cancer makes up 60 to 70% of the tumor & it had grown at the time it was removed at the mastectomy surgery. It is the harder to treat - rare type. She has already started chemo and has already been through surgery. She will have to have physical therapy and possible radiation & so many other things involved to even list.

If y'all know Kim, you know she is beautiful inside and out. That she is always helping others, going out of her way to help when able & works so hard every day. She loves all the patients who come through our doors & has become friends with so many that walk in our office doors. Kim has a kind heart & great at her job. One thing about Kim, she is very independent & struggles to ask for help, she is someone who always wants to find a way on her own.

She has finally given us permission to let us help her and get the word out to others, so we can ALL HELP & bless her life in this trying time. She will be starting chemo soon, she will have to miss a lot of work, her immune system will be down, there will be many restrictions & will have to be careful who she is around for a few months. She is the sole provider for herself and with lots of medical bills coming as well, this is going to be a very tough financial and not easily manageable situation for her.

When we ask Kim how she is doing, she replies often, "I am just taking it one day at a time and I am giving it to God. I know he will carry me & give me strength when I feel I can't & all of y'all praying & being my wonderful support system is truly what is keeping me sane & positive."

Her faith is strong and she is trying to stay as positive as she can in this burdensome situation. We ask for financial assistance for her, whether big or small, every little bit and dollar $ counts! We ask for prayers and hope that can give her strength during this hard time.
