Help Kim Get Her Hair Transplant Surgery

Hi, my name is Kim and I am a 33-year-old trans woman from the UK.

I have been on feminising HRT since 10th January 2020. Though I never expected miracles, it has done many wonders for my both physically and mentally.

However, the one thing it can't always completely undo is hair loss, as is the case with me.

Pre-transition, this was an easy fix; just shave my head weekly. This is no longer a viable option for me now. After experimenting with hairpieces for years, I learned that having a full head of hair is important to me, not just for my safety, but also for alleviating my dysphoria. Because wearing a hairpiece all the time is impractical, I have been gradually growing out my natural hair, which remains thick everywhere except for the crown and front.

The good news is that a combination of feminising HRT and finasteride have helped with some regrowth on the crown. I've also had a recent consultation with a reputable hair transplant surgeon who will be able to recreate and feminise my front hairline and restore some density to the front area. Where it will never be the same, it's enough to create an impression of a fuller head of hair that can be styled and layered. What the reconstructed hairline will also do is mask some of the sharper features on my forehead, making safer for me to be out in public without the need for expensive procedures or uncomfortable hairpieces.

In short, it won't just boost my confidence, it will significantly reduce my dysphoria, keep me safe and make the the world easier to navigate, all of which will improve my quality of life drastically. It's the one procedure that will go a long way for me at the lowest cost.

I have a quote and will be able to cover half the costs of my surgery, which I have scoped for September/October time this year. I just need your help covering the remaining half so I can reduce the amount of borrowing I need to do.
