Anyone who knows our wonderful mother, they would mention she is one of the most selfless people around. She is always the first to help others, even before herself. Well now Kim needs your help. (She will be so mad for us making this but she deserves it more than anyone)
Our lovely mom was diagnosed with Covid March 21st. Everything was going ok for the first couple days then the fevers started, mostly over 102. She had extreme fatigue and could barley walk to the bathroom. Our dad was concerned so we made her a doctors appointment this past Tuesday. She went in and her 02 was 85% on room air so she was going to be admitted to the hospital.
Most Fairview Covid patients get sent to St. Joes in St. Paul so that is where she went. She was admitted last night (March 30th) and was transferred to the ICU due to higher oxygen needs. She was placed on BiPap overnight.
Thankfully this morning the BiPap came off and she currently is on Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula at 50%. She is still very short of breath and gets winded when talking. They are keeping her in the ICU for close monitoring, especially due to the fact that she has Pneumonia in her lungs.
She is in good spirits but still not out of the woods yet. Since she has been out of work for almost two weeks, same with our dad due to him being quarantined- money will be very tight. Covid has made my moms job as a bartender much more difficult and money isn't as good as it was, now this. Also she has terrible insurance with a ridiculously high deductible. therefore we are asking to please consider donating to help with medical bills that will soon start to pile up!
Kim would never ask for help even if she needed it. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we try to take this one day at a time!!
