Ms. Maher's medical fund
Donation protected
Kim Maher is an amazing person who has dedicated the last 12 years of her life to teaching young children. Recently she received the devastating news that her breast cancer has come back, for the third time. She is doing all she can to fight this terrible disease and we, at Montessori Academy, would like to support her in her fight. Kim will have to take some time off of work and has many medical bills, so she is going to need our help. Here is her story in her own words:
A breast cancer diagnosis last year left me feeling devastated. First, you cry and then you build strength to overcome your illness. You look at your life and ask “why”? I have so much to live for and so much to give. I am a grandmother of four young grandchildren. Two of them live with me. Yes, I am a single grandmother raising a 13-year-old boy, Dylan and an 8-year-old girl, Destiny. I love them with all my heart and soul and want to raise them to be happy, healthy and compassionate adults.
I am a Montessori teacher and have been employed at a school that I love – Montessori Academy in Paradise Valley for eight years. My connection to the 3-6 year old children that I teach is a strong one. I love working with each and every unique child. Each day I look forward to going to work to see their smiling faces. They give me so much joy and inspiration. The staff consists of some of the most wonderful and talented educators I’ve ever met. My connection with them is strong and inspires me as well.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story and helping me to achieve my goal of getting back my health so that I may focus all of my time and energy on my family and my job.
Much Gratitude,
Kim Maher
