Help Kim Shipley with life changing Illness

Hello everyone,

My name is Laura and I am fundraising for my mother, Kimberly Shipley. My mom is only 62 years old, and her health has declined. I am currently writing this from her room in the ICU. She has been diagnosed with COPD, Diabetes, Pulmonary Hypertension, Heart Failure, and has an unknown mass growing in her throat. She has a very positive attitude for the situation and has been determined to recover. We have been spending our days watching HGTV and talking via white board as she no longer can speak. We have no idea if her voice will ever come back.

We are currently struggling with finding health insurance. Due to having tracheotomy surgery 10/28/2021, she will qualify for disability; however, this process will take months. She will need to be on 6 different medications after discharge that cost approx. $1800 per month, constant oxygen, and nurse care.

We are trying to raise money for an Oxygen Concentrator that she will need at discharge (approx 11/10 or sooner) which cost roughly $1000-$1600. We are also trying to raise money for medication assistance till her medical insurance kicks in. Between us 4 children we are struggling as none of us live in the same city, we all have to take time off work, airfare, hotels, and continue to split everything my mom needs.

We are asking for help from the public, our friends, and family. Our mom is a widow, and had to spend the last 15 years of her life being a single parent raising two teenage daughters. Finally, her children are all adults, and she has 7 grandkids; these are supposed to be her golden years filled with joy. Yet, she is faced with these tribulations. We need monetary assistance to pay for her medication, care, and love that she needs so she may spend her remaining time at home, surrounded by her loved ones, hopefully in time for the holidays.
