Help Kimberly Dee with medical expenses
Donation protected
I usually don't ask for help, but my family and I are really struggling. In March of 2020, I lost both of my jobs from March 26th until June 1st due to the pandemic. I own my own business and still had to pay full rent and business expenses for the 3 months we were closed. During that time, I applied for unemployment for the first time in my life, but only received payment for 3 weeks due to a "glitch" in the unemployment matrix. In August, I began having some more progressive health issues, and was ultimately diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis on August 26th. From January 2020 to August 2020, we incurred about $12,000 in medical expenses out of pocket. There is no end in sight for the medical expenses, due to MS being chronic and progressive. My Licensed Massage business has been struggling, down about 50% due to my health issues and the pandemic. On January 13th, even though I have been extremely careful because I am severely immunocompromised due to my MS treatment, I tested positive for COVID-19. That means 2 more weeks off work. We just found out today, that because of the rules at my husband's place of employment, he cannot return to work until February 8th because he is negative and living with someone who is positive. He has to wait 10 days after I am considered "no longer contagious". His paid leave runs out on the 22nd. That means 2 weeks without pay. I know everyone is going through difficult times. Everyone is hurting. For the first time in my life, I feel I am losing the battle to keep my head above water. It is a horrible feeling.
