Help Kimra with medical bills and rehabilitation

On October 20th, Kimra was taken to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain. A ct scan showed that she had a twisted bowel and she was immediately taken in for surgery to have a bowel resection.

During recovery her pain got worse every day and on day seven they finally took her for a ct scan and saw the the bowel resection failed and was leaking into her abdomen. This required another surgery. This time they couldn’t repair her bowel and they had to put in a ostomy bag, .

The leakage caused a severe infection in her abdomen which they fought for another 6 days. Then they found that the infection caused a necrotizing fasciitis (flesh eating bacteria) that moved into her side and progressed around her back toward her spine.

The only treatment for this has been surgery every 24 to 48 hours to remove dead tissue and try to get ahead of the infection, and being sedated on a ventilator in between. This has left her with a substantially deep wound in her side that will require plastic surgery to repair, and she will be in rehab mode for an estimated 6 to 12 months.
