Help KinhDo stay in business

Donation protected
Hi my name is Jonathan and I am the grandson of the original owners of KinhDo. My grandparents immigrated from Vietnam with hopes of a better life for their family. They were able see their dream come true when they opened KinhDo. After 30+ years, my grandparents were able to retire and finally relax and travel the world.

They handed over the restaurant to my parents with hopes that they could continue the family business. Everything was great until the pandemic hit. My parents, Jay and Dathao, did everything that was asked of them. They shut down the dining room and only offered takeout. Even when indoor dining was allowed to resume, they continued to only offer takeout because the few employees that they had had underlying health issues. Then the riots took a toll on business.

They were able to stay in business with the generosity of their landlord. Unfortunately, the building was sold in June ‘21. The new landlord increased their rent and their CAM fees.

I have seen my parents struggle, and it breaks my heart. They have worked so hard trying to keep KinhDo open because they love Uptown. They have hopes that Uptown will be great once again and would like to be able to see that happen. Unfortunately with the increase in rent and food costs, they need help. My parents have always kept their hardships to themselves, but I can see the stress in their eyes. Therefore I have started this gofundme account to help them. Any help is appreciated!
