Help Kip, a Stray Rescued Dog, Get Surgery to Save His Life

Hi, my name is Kip! Everyone thinks I am a dutch shepherd mix between 1 and 2 years old. My parents found me in the bushes in cold and rainy February, and have been caring for me since then. When they found me, I had an injured hip and couldn't walk well. They spent hours trying to calm me down, prevent me from running on my three good legs, and rescue me from the streets. Once they got me home, they got me nice and warm but knew they needed to get me checked out. They took me to the shelter to check for a microchip and be looked at. They couldn't find any physical reasons why I couldn't use my leg and I didn't have a microchip. They told my parents that I was too scared and shy to be in their care, and I probably would not be able to get put up for adoption. My parents wouldn't allow me to have that fate, and took me to my forever home (with a few new brothers too!). After settling in over two months, they decided it was time to neuter me. During my neuter procedure, my breathing became labored and oxygen saturation decreased under the anesthesia. They took xrays of my chest and found that I had fluid all around my lungs, making it very difficult for me to breathe. They struggled to keep me breathing while trying to wean me off of oxygen for transport to a hospital. Thankfully, I pulled through and I was able to sleep at home for the night before heading to the ER. Once I got to the ER, the doctors and nurses were amazing taking care of me and draining the fluid from my chest. I laid like a good boy on the table while they poked large needles into my chest and removed fluid for three hours. After they finished, they were able to see what was going on in my chest with an ultrasound. My liver and gallbladder got pushed up into my chest from a possible trauma, like getting hit by a car when I was out on the streets. I need to have a special surgery to have my organs moved back into the correct location to prevent the fluid from building up around my lungs again.
Thank you for hearing my story and please consider helping my parents afford this expensive surgery, as I will need to get help in the next few weeks.
