Help Me Reclaim My Home — My RV Was Towed

Hi, my name is Kirby and I’m reaching out during an extremely difficult time in my life right now and hoping that kind, non-judgmental people still exist in this world.

My RV—my only shelter and place of stability—was recently towed on March 27th while I was at work. This RV is not just a vehicle. It’s where I lived with my 3 year old chihuahua, Chewy, it's where I slept, stored my belongings, and tried to save up money to be able to get a real place of my own (like an apartment, etc). Now, every day it sits in impound, the cost increases—and I’m running out of time and resources.

Why I Need Help:

-The registration was suspended because of a bank fraud incident that caused my auto insurance to lapse.

-My bank account was closed right before payday due to someone trying to commit fraud using my account, so I haven’t received my check from March 28 yet.

I’ve been staying in a low-cost motel about 2 miles from my job so that I am still close enough to be able to walk to work (I haven't had a regular car/vehicle in about 9 months either...), to avoid sleeping on the streets, but that’s taken nearly all of the money I had to my name.

What I Need the Money for:

DMV Registration: $1,406

Tow Yard Fees (as of April 11th): $1,539

Vehicle Release Form from the Police Dept: $152

Total: $3,097

I should be getting my paycheck from 2 weeks ago that I still haven't been paid and today, the 11th is payday again. So I am hoping to receive both paychecks today to lower the total that I need. Which should lower the amount by approximately $1,500.00, so I would still need $1,597.00.

I’m working full-time and doing everything I can to stay afloat, but I can’t do this alone. If you can help—whether by donating or just sharing—I’d be so grateful.

This RV is more than just a home. It’s my foundation. Without it, I lose everything I’ve worked to hold onto. I want to keep moving forward and working towards saving up to get my own apartment so that I finally have a stable place to call home. Losing this would be such a big setback.
