Help Kirk Walk Again: Support His Stem Cell Recovery Journey

Hi everyone,

My name is Kirk, and I am reaching out to you for help during a challenging time in my life.

On May 11th, I was involved in a severe skydiving accident that left me with multiple injuries, including eight broken ribs and a broken spine. Most critically, I sustained a spinal cord injury that has resulted in lower limb paralysis with no movement from my belly button down. After undergoing surgery to stabilise my spine, I am now on the long road to recovery.

I am pursuing a promising opportunity to take part in a stem cell program designed to aid recovery from spinal cord injuries and my hope to walk again. Cutting-edge treatments such as these are only available in the private sector and require substantial financial investment.

The treatment and rehabilitation costs are into the hundreds of thousands. Whilst some of these costs will be self-funded, I am unable to pursue this opportunity without humbly asking for your help.

Every donation, no matter how small, will make an enormous difference and help ease the financial burden during this difficult time. I am incredibly grateful for any support you can provide and appreciate you taking the time to read my story. Message from the Fundraiser

Kirk is a close personal friend and colleague and we have worked together for over 15 years. Kirk's accident and his road to recovery is in the forefront of everyone's mind, both at a personal and a professional level.

I consulted Kirk with a proposal to raise funds to help him on his journey, which would be a huge help to ease the financial burden that the treatment will bring.

Any funds generated will be used directly by Kirk, to either fund the costly Stem Cell treatments or to purchase supporting equipment to help Kirk move on with everyday life prior to, during and post treatment.

As everyone can imagine, this was a life changing accident for Kirk and the the intention is to provide Kirk with the help he needs to expedite his recovery.

As Kirk is still in Hospital (James Cook University Hospital) Kirk and I have agreed for myself to manage this fundraiser on his behalf. Any funds generated will be sent directly to Kirk by means of a bank transfer and I will reach out to thank each of you personally.
