Donate to Help Kiva Recover from Hit and Run

Hello, my name is Kiva, I’m a 24 year old full time worker/graduated BFA and was recently the victim of a hit and run in the early hour of Friday (after Thanksgiving). Not only was my moms vehicle totaled (our household’s only transportation access for four adults- all working and one also in school) but I have a broken nose, lacerated lip, and whiplash trying to work through this incredible stress of the incident while simultaneously sorting through a police investigation, insurance, and medical appointments and papers.

I do and am looking forward to returning work with proper healing time, that I am desperately trying to work out with my employer this sick time off, but I do not qualify for paid time off or any benefits, and so far my next appointment is with an ENT this Thursday at 9am so I will be sure to update.

This has been a nightmare start to the holidays and I’ve already been saving for my own transportation that now has to be put on halt as I cover my medical expenses and I am immensely heartbroken at my mothers loss of her car, but am grateful to still be here. I’m hopeful that with a little communal support to help me recover financially from this accident while I am on bed rest, I can sooner get back to work and returning to the community, even if it is drudging through the cold on foot for 30 minutes- I will get there!

Alongside any support you can give, the person who hit and ran me on Middle Rd, Prince George, VA, 12:50/1AM (the road next to the Food Lion) it was a lifted (I think) black truck with additional bar gear in front of his hood/bumper and additional lights/bar above the cab; If you know this vehicle or you know the young man who drove it at this time because I can’t speak for what others or this system have to say about your actions, I only hope you learn to face through whatever life throws at you but you hold on to helping others and kindness because that’s all we’ve got, do not turn away in shame and fear, so much of my pain and suffering could’ve been alleviated by only you, if you had found the courage to step forward. The only choice to intertwine our lives was yours, and any and all control you could’ve taken of the situation was at the time and you abandoned me. Strangers make or break us, and that is what I’m coming forward to ask, is if you are able to step up where someone else did not, and I appreciate every share, donation, message of support, everything, and thank you so much for reading this far.
