Help Kiwi the Kitten Get Vital Medical Care

EMERGENCY UPDATE:

We found out that while Kiwi’s eye has done better and she’s gotten over her infections, the road to recovery has only gotten bumpier.

She has something called a diaphragmatic hernia, which is basically a hole in the diaphragm causing difficulty breathing and is impeding on other organs - applying pressure to the heart and can eventually cause her to be unable to eat. Basically, she needs this emergency surgery or she will die.

When I say emergency surgery I mean emergency, because the vet rushed us in and then rushed to find us a surgery center that will perform it same day. This operation can cost 6 to 8 thousand dollars, and I refuse to let this baby go after how far we’ve come and how much people have done to help.

She is a fighter, but money is so horribly tight right now that I or my parents can hardly afford this. I’m at a lboss for words because I’m so shaken - so I’m asking for help, again. Please help, donate and share what you can: she’s some so far and I love this little one.

Hi there, this is Kiwi - a 7-week-old kitten that I rescued from the middle of an isolated country road at just 5 weeks old. She was dehydrated, malnourished, her eyes, as you can see, are in serious need of help, and she is still fighting a respiratory infection as well as a parasite. Her body temperature was dangerously low and she could barely breathe or walk. Had I not managed to get her into see a vet for an emergency visit, she wouldn't have made it. All on her own, she was battling scorching summer Florida days, and torrential downpours.

At the time I found her, there were absolutely no shelters, rescues, vets offices, or anyone willing to take her in and although I had been wanting to get a new kitten eventually, I wasn't sure if now was the time. But the 'kitten distribution system' found me anyway, so I've taken her in as my own - and I'm glad I did, she's a sweet and loving kitten.

With some help and scraping out my leftover savings, I managed to get her back from the brink of death. She had a 50/50 chance at survival and the first few nights were spent sleeping by her side and listening for any sort of noise from her.

She will remain an indoor cat, but veterinary bills are costly - and even the low-cost non-profit spay clinics can be costly. At the moment, work for me is slow because it is out of season and so I'm not making as much as I normally would.

This GoFundMe is to ask for help to fund Kiwi's upcoming veterinary bills. Antibiotics, eyedrops, possible surgeries, blood tests, vaccinations, microchipping, the whole gamut. I want to ensure that Kiwi lives a long, healthy and happy life.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
