Hello!

My name is Kofi; I'm a 28 year old, gender non-conforming transmasc individual currently living in the PNW.

I have been out as trans in my personal life for about 6 years, and within the last year, expanded that circle to be more openly out. I began pursuing gender affirming care about 2 years ago & have been on testosterone about that same length of time (=^ェ^=)

I recently (as of Sept 2023) received my top surgery date (Feb 2025 - was rescheduled from Dec 2024) and it honestly feels too good to be true. I am beyond grateful & excited to work with my surgery team when the time comes :)

I've started this GoFundMe to help raise the necessary funds for the surgery itself, as well as some aftercare given that I will need time off of work.

The donations will help cover:

Surgery
Expected hotel costs
Food & snacks for aftercare lol
Time off of work
Other general aftercare costs (pregnancy pillow, meds, etc!)

I've set the goal at $9,500 for now, as this includes my insurance deductible costs, wiggle room for leftovers after insurance pays, and estimated aftercare costs. I may adjust this goal as we get closer to the date!

Any funds leftover after surgery completion will be donated to the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition group (though I am open to suggestions for other donation groups, as well, so long as they aim towards protecting & advocation for queer, trans lives).

I have beautiful friends who will be taking care of me after surgery. I am very lucky to be loved & supported by my family, as well as my community, and could never thank them enough for all that they do for me.
