Help Kolija's Recovery from Hind-Leg Injury

2024 started with a tragic incident here at And-Hof. On New Year’s Day, our beloved Dog Kolija was shot by an unidentified person’s bullet. Thankfully he survived, but needed extensive surgery.

The bill was $14,000 — an enormous sum for us already — and will rise as rehab continues. We’d be SO grateful if you considered helping support Kolija’s recovery. Thank You ❤️

Specifically, your donations go towards paying off the surgery bill, follow-up vet visits, x-rays, medication, physical therapy and building a fenced-in enclosure to limit his activity once he is allowed to be off-leash.

Thanks to the generosity of Hyer Ground Rescue, Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Humane Long Island and Animal Nation, there is also a $10,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension of Kolija's shooter. Please contact NYSP Catskill with any information.

UPDATE 1/8/24: Evidence found by the investigation of the DEC and State Troopers, as well as the position and size of the entry and exit wound, strongly suggest that Kolija was shot from the back and at close range — most likely as he was running away.

Since the incident's exact location has been identified, the ongoing investigation confirmed that the to-date-unidentified shooter was trespassing at the time.
