Dear Supporters,
My name is Krishan. I am 25 years old, a passionate football player, and I love nature, having grown up in the mountains of Spain. However, my first visit to Southeast Asia turned into a nightmare: I had a severe motorcycle accident in Pai, Northern Thailand, which I have no memory of. I suspect that someone may have put something in my drink, but it is difficult to prove since one must know exactly which substance to test for.
The ambulance ride from Pai to Chiang Mai, which lasted over three hours and covered 128 kilometers with 762 curves and numerous potholes, was the worst experience of my life. I was poorly secured and transported without painkillers. The first hospital only performed a poor-quality X-ray, which was insufficient to detect that my hip was not only dislocated but also fractured.
As a result of the accident, I suffered numerous injuries: torn cruciate ligaments and meniscus damage in my left knee, torn ligaments and a fracture in my right knee, as well as a fracture on the left side of my hip. All these injuries require surgery, which will take place here in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The hospital where I am currently staying failed to conduct a thorough examination of my body upon admission. It was only after two days that they discovered internal injuries and a shattered kneecap in my right knee after I reported pain in my knee. Finally, after eight days, I requested that the doctor remove the pin in my lower left leg, which was supposed to help straighten my hip. Before its removal, it was not possible to perform an MRI. The MRI results revealed that my meniscus has a small crack and the cruciate ligaments in my left knee are torn. This inadequate medical care led me to lose trust in the doctor, and I do not want him to perform the surgery.
We have now found another hospital with a renowned doctor who operates on Thailand’s top athletes. The surgery should take place as soon as possible, but I lack the necessary financial means to cover the procedures.
Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover the costs because I do not have an international driver’s license. This law was only recently introduced in Thailand. My family’s financial resources are insufficient to fund the required treatment. The accident has been blamed on me, even though I have no memory of it.
The woman involved in the accident suffered a broken nose, and her left cheekbone was operated on by a specialist. Initially, she demanded that I cover the hospital and motorcycle costs to settle the case. My family has already paid these bills, amounting to €14,000, for private hospital care. However, she is now demanding even more money for absurd daily household expenses, such as caring for her dogs and other costs. Additionally, she is seeking compensation for lost wages, but the amounts she is requesting are unrealistic. Fortunately, we are on good terms with the police, who are still investigating the case.
Since reaching an agreement with her seems impossible, I will have to hire a lawyer to resolve this situation.
After the surgeries, I will be in a wheelchair for 2-3 months and then I will require between 6-9 months of rehabilitation, which is also not covered by insurance.
To cover all medical expenses, rehabilitation, legal costs, and essential living expenses during my recovery, I need to raise €60,000. This amount will allow me to receive the necessary treatment, cover ongoing hospital costs, and ensure that I can focus on my recovery without financial stress.
All of this is taking an immense emotional and physical toll on me. Fortunately, my mother is here to support me, and she found the specialist doctor whom we trust to perform the procedures and operations. I couldn’t endure this without her.
I will provide updates on my recovery and overall condition.
I hope for your support, and I am endlessly grateful for any help.
Thank you very much!
