Help Kristin Bullard on Her Fight to Beat Cancer

Hi, my name is Leslie, and I've created this fundraiser to help Kristin as she continues on her journey to fight breast cancer and Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Most who know Kristin will agree that she's one of the most loving, kind and generous souls you'll ever meet! She takes care of others in her work as an Occupational Therapist and makes friends with every person who crosses her path. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the love, generosity and kindness of others than her and now is when she needs her people to step up to the plate to care for her in return.

Kristin received her first diagnosis of DCIS on June 16th, and then a positive test was returned on July 5th for stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Over the last six months she has endured biopsies, CT scans, mammograms, an echocardiogram, cardiopulmonary function tests, an ekg, ultrasounds and routine chemotherapy with A+AVD regimen every other week. All of this is being done to monitor the DCIS and treat the stage 3 Hodgkins, while the breast cancer treatments will begin in 2023. All of those medical obligations require Kristin to travel from Austin to MD Anderson for help, located three hours away in Houston, Texas. The travel is grueling enough, but add to it the costs of travel, meals and the occasional requirements to stay overnight for additional testing, and the process becomes overwhelming.

Between Kristin's treatments in Houston she is dealing with symptoms that include bone pain, hair loss, peripheral neuropathy in her hands and feet, nausea, fatigue, and elevated blood pressure. Some symptoms come and go and are difficult to manage with medication, let alone anticipate, making it increasingly tough to continue working full-time. But without our help, she will have to keep working full-time to cover her bills and upcoming medical costs, which will increase at the start of the new year when her deductible and out-of-pocket healthcare costs start anew. This is why I present this GoFundMe (with Kristin's hard-earned approval), so she can get the rest she needs while in treatment, to focus on the healing process and alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with her situation.
