Help Kristin Stroening Crush Cancer!

It does not matter if you are young, an irreplaceable mother, a caring wife or a brilliant daughter. You can be a trustworthy friend, a passionate worker and beautiful inside and out. Cancer does not discriminate.

Kristin Stroening is all of the above and more. And, at 32 years old, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Triple Negative Breast Cancer.

After closely monitoring herself for years due to having the BRCA1 gene, two masses were found on Kristin’s MRI screening in Nov 2022. For several weeks she went through multiple scans and testing to officially be diagnosed on Dec 23, 2022, just one day after her 32nd birthday.

Kristin’s plan of action is simple: Cancer Free by Sept!

The doctor’s plan of action was a little more detailed. Throw everything they can at it! This includes two different types of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Kristin would go through 4 rounds of chemo called “The Red Devil”, a very aggressive treatment with a long list of serious side effects. Now complete, she has started a different chemo with weekly rounds for 12 weeks. She also continues immunotherapy. Once these next 12 rounds of chemo are over, she will take a short break and prepare for surgery. There will be at least two surgeries to complete the process. Sounds tough. But Kristin is proving she is tougher!

Kristin is a mom to Madison (4) and Cam (2), wife to Danny, sister to Brian and daughter to Ken and Johanna, a two-time breast cancer survivor herself. Kristin works at Uline full-time as a Senior Finance Trainer.

Throughout the process, Kristin has been nothing but positive. Early on she talked about her diagnosis and instead of saying “Why me?”, Kristin said “Why NOT me? I am young, healthy and in a great position to beat this thing. I’m the perfect person to fight this fight.” What an incredible attitude!!

We all know the challenges a family faces when a member is diagnosed with cancer. Mentally, physically, emotionally and of course financially. As a community, let’s show our support and do what we can to ease the burden that cancer has placed on Kristin and her family.
