Help Kristine Restart After Palisades Fire
Donation protected
Our very dear friend Kristine (Weaver) Dunn is one of so many who have lost so much in the Palisades fire.
Though most of her apartment complex is mercifully still standing, the remaining buildings are currently uninhabitable, perhaps indefinitely, leaving her without a home.
Kristine has lived, worked and volunteered in the Pacific Palisades for nearly 30 years, with a local gardening/landscaping business for clients within the Pacific Palisades and Brentwood, nearly all of whom have lost their homes in the Palisades fire, so she has lost her livelihood as well.
Anyone who knows Kristine knows her heart—she doesn’t want to burden others, even during this time of profound uncertainty. Yet she is so deeply grateful to those who have reached out and has been very moved by the love and kindness that's been shown to her by her community.
A Personal Message from Kristine:
Even though the terrifying experiences with the fires have turned our lives upside down, there is so much to be grateful for. Thank you, family and friends and so many I have never met, for your love, care and generosity of spirit.
My apartment is intact but believe me when I say it is nothing short of a miracle. The actual boundary of the fire hugs its perimeter. And evacuation was through a literal fire storm.
My livelihood and joy as a landscape designer will have to wait as we all rebuild our lives (and that includes almost all of my clients who also, sadly, have lost their homes).
I am hoping to one day return to my apartment. I know it's going to be challenging when I finally get to go back. But I do know there will be a time to make things beautiful again. And that gives me hope. Thank you from my heart.
