Help Krithiha and Family Rebuild After Fire & Injuries

I am setting up this for a family in my Southside neighborhood of Corpus Christi who have lost everything from a house fire. The daughter, a veteran and a registered nurse with a doctorate, has lost her job due to her injuries. She is currently looking for another position. Her mom, also in the house fire, is not doing well and is in the hospital. They have a mortgage to pay and the house insurance deductible is $10,000. Only a small portion of the hospital bills will be covered, and the mother has no health insurance. They will need all of their household items, clothes, and food.

Here is their dilemma in her own words:

Hello, I appreciate everyone who reached out and offered assistance. I am truly thankful for all of you. I have finally decided to seek help. We have no clothing or anything else. SARA managed to obtain a bag of clothes that were left in the house, but we lack everything else. We need medium-sized clothing and underwear, size 10 footwear, and size 7.5 shoes, and we do not have any socks. If there are any leftover sanitary products, that would be helpful as well.

Please do not purchase anything new. I have never had new clothes or anything bought firsthand since I began my journey in the USA. Everything new was bought after I was financially stable. As a veteran, I have learned to sleep anywhere. If you have any unused bedding or leftovers, that would be a tremendous help. Anything you are considering discarding might be a treasure for my family and me. We have an 86-inch TV that should be in good condition; if anyone is interested in making an offer, the money could be used for gas. After I fell in the house, I injured my spine severely, and if anyone has ibuprofen or Tylenol to spare, that would be greatly appreciated. I lost all my medical equipment, including my stethoscope, vital signs machine, and scrubs; if anyone has extras, I’ll be sure to return them.

I have signed up for some apps to find work, but none have been approved yet. I know some neighbors discussed creating a GoFundMe page. If one is created, please let me know so I can arrange to cover my mortgage. More than donations, your prayers are what keep us going. I am in significant pain, and my entire body shakes when I stand for extended periods. Since my job is letting me go, my health insurance will be terminated. I am doing my best to manage the pain without affecting my mental state. I have no means to cook. If you have any food coupons you are willing to give away, that would help a lot.

I feel extremely ashamed to ask for help. Kim M. and her friend provided me with $300, which has been crucial in alleviating my hunger, and I owe them everything. Additionally, I am a registered nurse with a doctorate. I can provide excellent care and have extensive experience in both patient and emotional care. If anyone is looking for a private pay nurse, I am more than willing to do the best job I can. Even if you cannot afford to pay, a gas card would also be very helpful. I understand that everyone's money is hard-earned, and I do not want to exploit my situation for sympathy. I am very motivated and can teach effectively. My parents were teachers, and that ability came naturally to me, so I can teach and explain nursing school or NCLEX material. I am also a software architect and can teach Python and architecture.

I also want to thank Michael and Kate, who saved our lives. If my life and my mother's life are still intact, it is because of them getting us out of the house. You both are amazing to us, and please ensure your house has no issues, as this situation was unimaginable. I would gladly pay for an inspection if I knew something was wrong with the house.
