Help Kuo Find Her Birth Family
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kuo Reese (Kuo Hui-Ju). I was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1980. I was adopted and came to the U.S. in 1982. I have always wanted to know about my birth family but have not had any luck on Ancestry.com or 23&me.com.
My adoption story is quite different than many others. In the early 1980s there was a woman named Julie Chu. She and several others were arrested for allegedly adopting out babies that may have been stolen or taken illegally. Birth certificates and identification were forged and Julie and the others were sent to jail. At the time, the Taiwanese police searched for the birth families for the many babies that Julie had adopted out or had with her at the time of her arrest.
Now many of those babies, who are now adults, are looking for their birth families. A few have found them through DNA analysis done in Taiwan and compared to people who finally come forward looking for their loss children.
My dream is to go back to Taiwan to search for my birth family & I need your help to get me there. All the funding from the donation will goes toward plane tickets, lodging and travel expenses for Kuo's trip to her birthplace, Taiwan. Her trip will also be documented in the documentary which is scheduled to release in a year from now.
