Help Kuzco Fight His Liver Battle

Hi everyone, my name is Erin and I have a very sweet 2-year-old corgi named Kuzco who unfortunately has seen better days.

On Friday, he began vomiting and was very lethargic. The next day, he wasn’t interested in food and was very weak with continued vomiting. We decided to take him to the ER vet where they did X-rays and bloodwork that showed his liver values were out of range. He was then transferred and is now being hospitalized, being on fluids and liver support.

An update from today, his blood coagulation test came back abnormal being 180 secs when it should be less than 20, and it was normal yesterday, so he will be receiving a plasma transfusion and the internal med doctor will be getting biopsies of his liver and running a culture and placing a nasogastric tube since he hasn’t been eating.

With all of this care, unfortunately, comes costs. We are unsure what each day will bring, but we want to make sure we continue to give this little boy a chance at receiving the best care possible.

Another update, I saw Kuz around noon yesterday and he wasn’t looking the best, no energy, his skin and eyes were turning yellow, the doctor had said they would be starting him on antibiotics and another liver support. Later that evening we saw him and he was in a little better spirits, we were able to take him for a short walk around the hospital and the doctor had said some of his liver enzymes were decreasing! We need all the prayers and thoughts we can get to bring this sweet boy home !!!❤️❤️

an update from12/11 Last night we had a visit with Kuzco and he almost seemed like our sweet normal Kuzie! He was very perky, he was whining at the door when he knew pups were walking by and even tried to jump on the chair but didn’t have all his strength back yet, he had a small solid poop, and ate a little bit of food for us! If he continues to improve like this each day we will have our sweet little man back home where he belongs and can recover in the comfort of his own home❤️
