Help Kylie Get New Lungs!!

Donation protected

Kylie has spent the last 13 years fighting for justice for others and now she is fighting for her life.  Kylie is a Deputy District Attorney in the Lincoln County DA's Office and has dedicated her career to public service.  That journey suddenly came to a halt a little over a month ago when Kylie's health suddenly plummeted.  She is currently admitted to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center awaiting a lung transplant.  Kylie needs a lung transplant to survive and is not stable enough to leave the hospital.  I created this go fund me page to help raise money so we can get Kylie some new lungs and get her back to work at the DA's Office so she can continue her passion of helping others and serving her community.  Let me tell you more about Kylie and her story...

Three years ago Kylie was healthy.  She ran track in college, she loved to hike and her favorite thing was doing dog agility with her adorable Ridgeback, Bebe. Kylie was dedicated to her work and spent countless hours pursuing justice for crime victims in a variety of cases ranging from fatal DUII crashes to child sexual abuse.  It was about three years ago when Kylie suddenly became ill.  Within a few months Kylie's health really declined... she needed to be on oxygen 24/7 and could no longer do the physical activities she loved.  Despite her declining health, Kylie never complained, was in great spirits and continued pouring herself into her work, family, friends and BeBe.

About a month ago Kylie called me and told me she was heading to the hospital because she didn't feel well.  We had no idea she wouldn't return home.  Kylie was in such bad shape that her doctors believed she wouldn't make it.  Her close friends and family began to grapple with the idea that we might lose Kylie.  We should have known better....Kylie never quits.  She fought for her life, hard.  She slowly started to stabilize enough to be life flighted to UCLA.  Once at UCLA, Kylie was placed on the transplant list.

Once Kylie gets a transplant, the road to recovery is a long one.  She has to remain in LA for at least 12 weeks to be monitored.  Even when she returns home she may not be able to return to work right away.  She won't be out of the woods for a long time.

Kylie really needs our help.  She is focused on surviving.  The last thing she should be worrying about is money.  However, she is unable to work and will have no money coming in but has a mortgage, bills, medical costs, etc. that will continue despite her circumstances.  Kylie would never ask for a go fund me page.  She never complains, never asks for help and never wants to be a burden to anyone. I started this page because I know she has a need and I am determined to meet that need.

She has given so much to people in her community, her friends and her family during their time of need and I am hoping we can all rally together and give back to her! This is what community is all about.  We are trying to raise $30,000 for Kylie.  That seems like an astronautical number but that is:

300 people donating $100
600 people donating $50
1,200 people donating $25

...and so on and so forth.  I know we can pull together and do this for Kylie. Her friends and family need her to pull through and Lincoln County needs her back in the DA's Office doing the job she was born to do!
