Our friend, Kyoko
Yoshida was diagnosed in November 2022 with Cell B lymphoma. The results of her
pet scan showed that she has stage 3 cancer that has spread to her stomach. She
is a mother of two, Kaleb, 13 attends Wooster Middle School, Kaiya, 15 attends
Stratford High School and plays with the Bunnell Marching Band. Kyoko is a Navy
Veteran and started chemotherapy at the Veteran’s Hospital last month. She will
need chemo every 3 weeks for 6 months. Kyoko works at The Six to Six Magnet
School and attends Southern Connecticut State University pursuing her
bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Kyoko and her family are very
involved in supporting the community. The children’s dad is a Chauffeur for the Stratford
Community. Over the years, the children have been enrolled in many different activities at the YMCA,
Stratford Recreation Center, Sterling House, PAL, Cal Ripken, Stratford
baseball and softball league, and local chapters of the Boys and Girl Scouts. Kyoko volunteers at many community events; a PTA member at Wilcoxson Elementary school, Wooster Middle School, Stratford High
School, Bunnell Marching Band and wherever needed. She is on disability while
she is being treated and funds are extremely low. Kyoko is a wonderful person with
a big heart. She is the first to reach out and offer a helping hand. Now is the
time to come together and offer our help to her and the children. No amount is
too small. Thank you in advance.
