Help Kyra Keep Her Home
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
We are doing a Go Fund me for Kyra again as she continues in her divorce tribulations with her (hopefully soon to be ex) husband.
As many of you already know, Kyra is a single mom to four special needs kids. Due to her children’s complex medical and psychological conditions, Kyra is unable to work full time and thus lacks the income to cover the expenses involved in a contested divorce case. Although Kyra has built up a successful handmade jewelry her children’s complex medical and psychological conditions frequently require several hours of travel and direct care every day, severely limiting her ability to work, so she lacks the income to cover the expenses involved in a contested divorce case.
She is asking for your help in moving her case forward. If everyone gives even just a little bit, Kyra will have the funds to protect her home and her children by achieving a binding settlement to her divorce.
For those interested in more details on the case, here is where things stand:
Kyra has been trying to divorce her husband since December 2016.
Her ex husband has extended the process by contesting full child support, back support and medical/therapy/educational and 1-1 aide expenses for their children.
Because her ex has refused a reasonable settlement, the case must go to trial, potentially adding an additional $50K to Kyra’s legal fees. Court is set for January, 2023.
Particularly concerning is the fact that Kyra’s ex claims he has a right to a portion of her house, which was her childhood home, willed to her by her father, and which never served as the marital home.
If his claim is successful, Kyra will have to sell her house, not only uprooting her children, but also severing them from the important support services and programs that Kyra has spent years securing for them.
In order to avoid this, and to get the child support owed her so that she can afford the services her children so desperately need, Kyra needs help paying for court.
If court costs are awarded to her or if her ex settles before court, she will donate unused funds to helping other abused women gain financial security and safety for themselves and their children.
You can either help by donating to this GoFundMe or by patronizing her business at www.ironlacedesign.com
