A double mastectomy, thyroid cancer & job loss

My sister La Donna is one of the kindest, warmest, most genuine people I’ve ever met and she needs our immediate help.
Unfortunately, she has just been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (an aggressive breast cancer) following a routine mammogram, and is scheduled for lymph node biopsy to determine staging and next steps which will likely include chemotherapy and/or radiation. Her husband has been laid off from his job for a couple of months, so he’ll be by her side to help support her through treatment but probably not bringing in any income. They literally just got married and got hit with all of this bad news—and their vehicle needs several thousand dollars of repairs!
The healthcare costs are already mounting, and with her husband temporarily out of work and her business largely on hold, she needs our support to get through the next couple of months of treatment.
Many of you know La Donna from her political activism, volunteering and advocacy. She has been a tireless advocate for her daughter and others on the autism spectrum, provided career coaching to people with mental health challenges, and has supported many other good causes both online and offline. In spite of multiple chronic health conditions including fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, she has built a small digital consulting business and is always working to make the world a better place. She is a fighter!
We lost our father to leukemia many years ago and our mother has advanced Alzheimer’s disease, so La Donna’s family is on their own financially.
Any amount you can give will help La Donna and her family get through this difficult time so she can get back to work to ensure that no one else ever needs a GoFundMe for healthcare costs. Funds raised will be used for medical costs associated with cancer treatment, rent and utilities, and the auto repairs needed to get to and from treatment. You can make a difference in lightening the mental load for a really good person so she can put all her energy to beating this cancer!
