Help Lai get back on her feet

14 year old Laila is the sweetest young lady you could ever meet. She is shy and witty and always has a hug and a smile for everyone. Her mother is a single parent with three teenagers.
On July 30 Laila passed out in the store and had to be rushed to the hospital. After a Cat scan and an MRI it was determined that the fluid that was normally absorbed through the ventricles in the brain was not being absorbed from her body and there was too much fluid on her brain. She was later diagnosed with Aqueductal Stenosis because the ventricles in her brain were too narrow for fluid to go through. Laila had to have emergency surgery to remove the fluid on her brain and to put a shunt in so that the fluid would be able to flow from her brain. This surgery has affected her speech and motor skills and will require speech, physical and occupational therapy. This will be a lifelong process for Laila as she will constantly have to be monitored to assure that her condition doesn't recur.
Laila was supposed to start high school in Conyers Ga this past Tuesday, but she was unable to do so due to this emergency surgery. She will probably not be able to go back to school until January due to the length of her recovery and the many doctors appointments, physical therapy, speech therapy and other appointments she has coming up in the next 3-4 months. Her grandparents have come from New Orleans to assist with her care as well.
We are asking for assistance to help set Laila up for virtual school, to defray some of the additional medical expenses that will occur in these upcoming months, as well as the extra expenses that her grandparents will be incurring since they will be away from home for a while to assist in her care. We would appreciate any assistance that we can get for Laila as she begins this recovery process.
