Help Laila and Sydney Escape Rat Nightmare

Hi! We're Laila and Sydney, besties since 04' and currently in our third year of college together. In August, we moved into our first off-campus apartment, extremely excited for more freedom, core memory-making, and our next chapter in life. This quickly went down hill and we are facing horror stories every single day. What went from multiple broken amenities including our AC, washer, and dryer on the first day of move-in, has turned into a confirmed rat infestation in our ceiling. I, Laila, came back from winter break to a hole in my bathroom ceiling, chewed by a rat. It took my apartment complex a month to come up with a plan to attack this issue - and it still has not been resolved. We are seeing rats and roaches inside the building on a daily basis, and having to deal with constant condescending conversations with the apartment staff who are not taking this matter seriously, have zero sense of urgency, and are not willing to work with us. This entire situation has left us feeling extreme amounts of anxiety, hopelessness, and defeat. We are trying to break our lease and move out into another apartment that must be furnished, so that we can continue our lives as early 20-something girls trying to enjoy the last bit of college that we have. We are not ones to beg, and we are working hard and doing what we can to save money ourselves - however, we could really use your help in making this process as quick and easy as possible.
