I am Lama from the Gaza Strip This is my story I will tell you Today I completed a year of marriage, but I do not know how this year passed. I was living in a room with my husband’s family, and I was satisfied and thankful to God. My wedding day was in the 2023 war. When I was in the wedding hall, I was alone without my family. This was because my family was unable to reach me due to the severity of the missiles and bombing. The days and months went by and I became pregnant in my fourth month. The deadly war began and with it the displacement from one city to another. I was displaced in many places until I reached Rafah. When I was displaced to Rafah, I had reached the month of giving birth and the date of the birth of my firstborn child had arrived. I was alone. Without anyone from my family, my mother could not reach me because she was sitting next to my father, a paramedic who had his leg amputated while working as a paramedic.camera

I am now 3 months old. Perhaps the number does not mean anything to you. It is just an illusion that we created and believed. 3 months have passed and I have been in this ugly world, and here I am listening to the same sounds that I heard while I was in my mother’s womb. My ears were dirty with the sounds of cannons and rifles, and my sense of smell was polluted with smells. The fire and the atmosphere poisoned by war and smoke. I was born in a city other than my city, far from my family and loved ones.

This is my story and the story of my firstborn child, who did not live a single moment in safety.
